Billionaire PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel has invested in a pro-doping sports contest with the intention of creating a “modern reinvention of the Olympic Games.”

This movement follows recent news pertaining to Dana White’s contentious battle with the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency), the major non-profit organization for drug testing in U.S. sports, as well as a overall interest in testing the limits of the human body using biochemical enhancements.

Peter Theil, along with the likes of Bali Srinivasan, a crypto currency investor and former Coinbase CTO, and Christian Angermayer, a biotech investor all envision a game that “will undoubtedly inspire the public’s imagination.”

The website for The Enhanced Games, is also prompting a movement of supporters that regard ‘The Enhanced Movement’ as a safe way to include science in sports and is “unencumbered by anachronistic legacy systems” that are “anti-science” and stigmatize “enhanced athletes.”

While the “Enhanced Movement” stresses the importance of “personal” choice for competitors, the contest’s website says it “embraces enhanced athletes” and wants to push the “perceived limit” of what is possible, with the ultimate goal of setting new world records.

The contest will span across five core sporting categories: athletics, aquatics, combat, gymnastics and strength.
